Our History
Tidmarsh has been crafting bespoke blinds, curtains and home furnishings for more than 180 years. We have nearly 200 years of experience in handmade, bespoke blinds, so we really are qualified to call ourselves the blind experts. Georgian, Regency, Victorian and Edwardian architects and designers have left a most formidable legacy of styles. Few, if any, blind makers are as well qualified as Tidmarsh to recreate them. For, in many cases, our parent company Tidmarsh & Sons helped to create the originals.
Tidmarsh Blinds
Charles Tidmarsh was an established wheelwright and carpenter from Gloucestershire. In 1828 he moved his family to Islington, London, where he used his skills to make a living. Part of his work was concerned with window shutters and “rowller blinds” – which soon became the main part of the business. Since those days, the company has passed from father to sons and daughters, and so on.
Tidmarsh are a simply excellent company providing excellent products, excellent installation and excellent customer service.
This family owned and run business based near Chelmsford has provided perfect solutions for curtains and blinds in all the windows of 7 properties for me. I simply cannot fault anything about them.
